Munshiganj district is established in 1984. Munshiganj is a district under Dhaka Division. The district is bounded by Dhaka and Narayanganj on the North, Madaripur and Shariatpur on the south, Comilla and Chandpur on the east, Dhaka and Faridpur on the west. It consists of 6 Upazilas, 67 union Parishads, 662 Mouzas, 906 villages, 18 wards, 73 mahallas and 2 municipalities.Main water source and rivers are the Padma, Meghna, Dhaleshwari, Ichamaty and Sitalakshya.
