Mumbai

Mumbai doesn’t have as many historical attractions as some places in India, but its multitude of unique and interesting sights more than compensates. You’ll find everything from beaches to Bollywood. Mumbai formerly called Bombay is a sprawling, densely populated city on India’s west coast. On the Mumbai Harbour waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in the year of 1924. Offshore, nearby Elephant Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to Shiva. The city is also famous as the heart of the Hindi-language Bollywood film industry.
